Deep Waters
Deep Waters is a collection of ceramic vessels that explore the nature of personal and collective memory. Each piece serves as a container for the experiences, stories, and inherited wisdom that shape our identity and potential. The series examines the unconscious forces that influence who we are and who we become.
Writing is an essential part of my creative process. Expressing myself on paper helps me understand myself better—reflecting on and learning from my experiences, finding closure. When the initial concept for Deep Waters emerged, writing became the foundation for translating these ideas into physical form.
Writing on a vessel, however, is something else entirely. It transforms the act of writing from private reflection into a physical, permanent mark—embedding the words directly into the object that holds them.
These works are created through an intuitive process that combines earth, water, and air, with each piece refined until it reaches completion before being fired. The making itself becomes a meditative practice—one of presence and acceptance that moves through, rather than around, the complexities of human experience.
